About Us

Who are we?

Gaspars blog pic team

Gaspar’s Construction and Gaspar’s Handyman Services are composed of award-winning teams that have designed and built projects from whole homes, 2nd story additions, to kitchens and decks.  Handyman and small projects are handled by our team of skilled technicians in fully outfitted service vans.

Over the years we have worked hard to form a team of artists and crafsmen who are aligned in purpose.  In building our team, we specifically selected people who are the prime of their craft, dedicated to being the best in our trade, accountable, and passionate about making a difference in people’s lives through helping them transform their home.   All these things drive us to strive for an enjoyable remodeling experience for everyone involved…from homeowners to architect,  building managers and neighbors.

We know that a picture is worth a thousand words, and often words coming straight from the source are the best!  Hear what our clients have to say about us.

Meet Rich – Owner and Founder

Rich Gaspar for web

Rich is recognized as an industry authority.  His experience in construction management is as varied as it is impressive. He has renovated historic buildings in Seattle and numerous private residences. His passion for excellence is surpassed only by his desire to get the job done right the first time.

Rich has been the chairperson of the Master Builder Association’s Remodeling Council.  In 2009, Rich was a speaker at the Remodeling Big 50 Leadership Conference. He has also served as the co-chairperson for the 1999 Remodelers Council (Master Builders Association), and chairperson for the 2000 Remodelers Council.

Meet Cathy – Owner and Designer

Cathy Gaspar for web

Cathy provides the innovation behind Gaspar’s unique designs. An industry expert on remodeling design, she has been featured in numerous articles in national magazines such as Professional Remodeler Magazine and Remodeling Magazine.  Cathy also serves on the Education Committe of the Washinton Business Alliance.

Through her unique approach, Cathy considers a variety of factors such as how you use your home, its atmosphere, existing architectural characteristics, natural light, and traffic patterns. This methodology helps her design an environment perfectly tailored to fit your lifestyle. Cathy has trekked internationally to China, Italy, Mexico, Bali, Vietnam and most recently to Morocco and Portugal finding influences for great design ideas.

Cathy holds an interior design degree from the Art Institute of Seattle and has more than a decade of experience working with homeowners, building contractors, and cabinet makers.

Additionally, Cathy’s passion for the last many years has been helping the communities around her through organizations such as the Seattle AIDS Support Group and the Women’s Funding Alliance.

Sarah has a BA in Business Administration from the University of Washington and a Certificate from the Construction Management program also at U.W.

Meet Mark – Production Manager

With three generations of construction knowledge from working with his Grandfather, Father and Brothers, Mark fits the family values of the Gaspar’s team.  As Production Manager, he oversees all of the construction management.  Effective communication, an acute eye for the details, and a need to leave no loose ends are what makes Mark a strong team leader and advocate for our clients.

Mark literally grew up on his dad’s jobsites leaning every aspect of residential construction from foundations and framing to the most intricate of millwork and cabinetry.  Mark & Gaspar’s teamed up to develop the Construction Team into a well refined group of craftsmen, all aiming to create not only beautiful projects, but clients for life.

Favorite things for Mark’s recreational time are doing anything with the family, soccer, skiing, and the continual improvement to the family home.   Born and raised in Seattle, he knows the history and development of most of the Seattle homes and neighborhoods and is passionate about maintaining the history and character of each home he works in.

Meet Jen – Account Manager

Jen Gaspar for web

As an Account Manager, Jen builds relationships with our clients through listening and asking questions to determine what is most important to them.  She walks them through the process from start to finish, making sure their expectations are getting met and advocates for their needs.  Her role is to also ensure we are staying on budget, the schedule is on course and all client concerns and questions are resolved in a quick manner.

Jen has a BA in Business Management and Marketing from The University of Montana.  She has over 11 years of experience in customer relations and providing the highest level of customer service.  Her high integrity and honest approach comes through when you first meet her.

In her spare time, Jen enjoys flying with her husband Isaac, gardening, traveling back to Montana and staying active with Pilates or training for triathlons.

Meet Mike – Estimator & Service Manager

Mike is the original Gaspar’s team member.  He came to Gaspar’s in 1997 and has held many roles from Carpenter to Project Manager and now uses his experience as our Estimator and Service Manager.

Meet Paul – Service Coordinator

Paul was born and raised in Flint Michigan and began working in construction there in 2000.  He got his General Contractor’s license there before moving to Seattle in 2007.  There he was hired by Gaspar’s as a Service/Handyman Technician.  His natural leadership and desire to satisfy his clients made him the perfect choice as our new Service Coordinator.

Paul got married to Mary Ann in 2008 and they are now owners of their own home.
